Drilling

Diamond drilling for the mineral, geotechnical and coal sectors — configured for the ground, the access and the program in front of us.

The Platform

Deep Drill Indonesia uses the Indonesia-built and proven CBI-1200 drill rig platform. Specific configurations allow for heli-supported, remote tramming or skid-mounted operation, with optional enhanced safety and automation features to enable the flexibility our customers demand.

What We Drill

Drilling services

Mineral Drilling

Diamond core drilling for gold, copper, nickel and base-metal exploration — greenfields discovery holes through to resource-definition and geotechnical programs, in remote and technically challenging terrain.

  • Heli-supported
  • Track-mounted
  • Skid-mounted
  • Geotechnical

Coal Drilling

Exploration and resource drilling for the coal sector, with rig configurations and crews suited to open-cut pit environments, restricted pads and multi-hole production programs on tight schedules.

  • Open-cut
  • Resource definition
  • Geotechnical
  • Core recovery

CBI-1200

Proven performance. Built for exploration.

Our operations are built around the CBI-1200 drilling platform, a powerful and versatile diamond drilling rig with depth capacity of up to 1,000 metres NQ, powered by reliable Cummins diesel engines.

Built in Indonesia and proven in demanding exploration environments, the CBI-1200 is the backbone of our drilling fleet.

This highly adaptable platform can be configured to suit any project, with track-mounted, skid-mounted and heli-supported options, together with optional enhanced safety and automated handling systems.

  • NQ Depth capacity 1,000 m
  • HQ Depth capacity 700 m
  • PQ Depth capacity 400 m

Configurations

The rig adapts to the project

Equipment and crews capable of adapting to the requirements of the project rather than forcing the project to adapt to the rig.

Helicopter-supported

Broken down into liftable modules for ridge-top and jungle pads where no road access exists — the configuration behind our Solomon Islands and PNG programs.

Track-mounted

Self-tramming on tracks for fast pad-to-pad moves on established exploration grids, with remote tramming available to keep operators clear of the machine.

Skid-mounted

A compact, low-footprint set-up for restricted pads, underground portals and locations where a small platform is all the ground allows.

Optional Systems

Enhanced safety & automated handling

  • Rod lifters
  • Automatic rod break-out systems
  • Remote tramming
  • Reduced manual handling around the rig
